StudentLinks collects, uses and discloses personal information only for purposes reasonably connected to providing tutoring, mentorship, booking, communication, payment administration, website security and related business operations. We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed for those purposes.
Information you provide
Depending on how you use StudentLinks, information may include a parent or student name, contact details, grade or year, subject, scheduling information, messages about the help being requested, booking details and information needed to administer payment. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not necessary for us to understand or provide the requested service.
Students and minors
StudentLinks primarily serves Grades 7–12. Parents or guardians may provide information and make arrangements for a student. Where a student is capable of understanding the nature and consequences of the collection, use or disclosure of their information, applicable privacy law may permit the student to provide consent directly; otherwise a parent or guardian may act for the minor as permitted by law.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange and provide tutoring or mentorship, communicate about sessions, maintain appropriate service and business records, administer payments, protect the website and services from abuse, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.
Service providers
StudentLinks uses third-party services to operate the website and deliver services. These may include Cloudflare for website hosting and security, TidyCal for scheduling, and Resend for contact-form email delivery. A payment service may also process payment information when a payment method is offered through the booking flow. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Processing outside Canada
Some service providers may store or process information outside British Columbia or Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws and lawful-access requirements of that jurisdiction.
Cookies and analytics
StudentLinks may use essential technologies needed for security, forms and booking. If optional analytics or similar technologies are added, this policy and any applicable consent controls will be updated to reflect the tools actually in use.
Safeguards and retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information in our control. Personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, for legitimate business or legal requirements, or as otherwise required by applicable law, after which it is deleted or anonymized where reasonably practicable.
